The Golden Hour, the most famous celebration in the history of music, has been a tradition in many of the country’s largest cities for more than a century.
But this year, the hour ended at midnight and the Golden State Warriors played the Atlanta Hawks.
That’s because of a rule in place since the 1960s that allowed the Warriors to play in a downtown stadium.
The Warriors, however, would not be allowed to play at the old Cobb Stadium.
They instead had to play a home game in their new home arena, Oracle Arena.
“We have never been able to play the Golden Warriors in our home arena,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told the team’s official website.
“The rule that was put in place was to give the Golden City and the Warriors the best home-field advantage, but we are not allowed to be in our own home arena and we cannot play at Oracle Arena.”
That rule was changed in 2020 and the game between the Warriors and Hawks was postponed.
The Golden State players and coaches celebrated with a special concert before the game.
And the fans booed the team when they left the arena in their cars.
“For our players, I don’t think this is the first time they have been booed at a home basketball game, but I know it’s not going to be the last,” Warriors forward Draymond Green told ESPN.
“There was a lot of pressure on them and it was a great game, and I think that’s going to carry over to tonight.”
The Warriors’ win over the Hawks was their first since a 106-96 loss at the Atlanta Braves on Dec. 6, 2019.
“I don’t want to say we didn’t enjoy the game,” Warriors coach Steve Nash said.
“They’re a great team, and they’ve got a good team.
But they were just too much of a challenge for us.”
This was the first game since the 2019-20 season in which the Warriors were not playing in Oracle Arena, a venue that was renovated after the 2019 NBA All-Star Game.
In 2020, the Warriors would play the Portland Trail Blazers at Oracle.
“It’s unfortunate that this is our home court and we don’t have a home court at Oracle, and we will continue to try to make that change in the future,” Golden State general manager Bob Myers said in a statement.
We got a win, but it’s also disappointing that we didn’s our home-court. “
At the end of the day, we played a great basketball game.
We got a win, but it’s also disappointing that we didn’s our home-court.
The game is over, so let’s move on and get ready for next season.”
Curry, who was named MVP of the 2020 NBA All.
15 Tournament, scored 27 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and grabbed 10 assists in his first game back after missing the first five games of the season because of an ACL injury.
He said he felt good coming out of the game because of the knee.
“Every time you come out there, it’s a special feeling, and it’s the best feeling you can get,” Curry said.
“[It was] one of the best days of my life.
It was so good.
I got the whole city, the entire country, and everybody’s cheering.
This game gave us a chance to get some wins, and to get to the finals, and hopefully go into the finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.”
