A pizza hut on a suburban lot in rural Tennessee, where the owners of a local pizzeria are preparing to open their first franchise in a year, is a good place to start.
A sign outside the establishment reads, “It’s not a restaurant, it’s a shack.”
The name of the new pizza hut is Pizza Hut, but the owners have chosen the name to honor their namesake, the owner of a chain of fast-food restaurants.
The new place, called Pizza Hut Chattanooga, is located just off the highway just north of the town of Fayetteville.
Pizza Hut Chattanooga owner Tom and his wife have been preparing the establishment for about two years, and the family hopes to open it by the end of the year.
“I don’t know how long it’s gonna take to get it opened,” said Tom.
He added that he expects the restaurant to be open by the summer.
If all goes as planned, Tom and the Pizza Hut team hope to be opening in 2019.
I know a lot of people would like to eat there, but I just don’t think that’s gonna happen,” he said.
But the couple doesn’t have any plans to open the new location in Nashville.
Tom and his team are also expecting a lot more traffic than usual because the family is planning to open a second location in the nearby city of Chattanooga.

Tom said the restaurant owners plan to continue to expand and he said he’s looking forward to being a part of their business.
His wife, Angela, said she also appreciates the new name.
“When I hear that we’ve got the name Pizza Hut for the first time, I’m proud,” she said.
“It’s really going to be a new thing.
We’re going to keep doing what we do.
We just want to open up a restaurant.”
The owners of Pizza Hut are still looking for locations in the metro area.
They are planning to take over a vacant commercial building in Nashville that they are currently using for their operations.
There are no plans for expansion of the other locations, but they have some ideas for the future.
“Right now, we’re just focused on Nashville,” said Andy Rader, the Pizza Huts director of marketing.
And that includes expanding their business into more areas.
Andy said they are also looking to expand to more states.
“If we can grow it into some other areas, we would be really excited to,” he added.
We’ve been getting a lot in terms of calls, but we have no plans at this time,” he continued.
It’s going to depend on where we get the dough from, but at the end we’re open for business.
