The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Tuesday that defenseman Kris Letang has been suspended four games for his role in a hit to the head of Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby.
Letang, who has missed three games, had a boarding penalty on Crosby during Pittsburgh’s 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.
The Penguins went on to win the game 3-2.
The league announced Tuesday the following:Pittsburgh Penguins captain Mike Sullivan has been fined $5,000 for boarding a Pittsburgh Penguins player.
The penalty was assessed during a 2-on-1 faceoff in the second period.
The Penguins announced they have recalled forward Travis Zajac from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
Zajac, 20, has appeared in six games for the Bruins this season, recording one assist and five penalty minutes.
The Bruins announced Wednesday that they have activated forward Ryan Murphy from the injured list.
