These sugars are metabolized into fructose and glycerol, and this process produces more calories than fat, protein, or carbohydrates.

That burger bun isn’t going to taste as good as a regular pizza, even though you could eat a lot more of it.
That’s because, for most of its life, the burgers and other processed foods in the American diet come from plants that are largely composed of animal fats, and the processed foods are also often high in salt, refined sugars, and trans fats.
The high-fructose corn syrup in the processed food is also a major factor in its high calorie density.
A lot of the processed meat products that you find in the grocery store and other restaurants are made from animal fats.
And because these animals are raised and slaughtered without any humane treatment, the products that they produce are often high-calorie.
The bottom line is that if you’re eating a lot and not being careful with your calories, you may be missing out on the health benefits of these high-sugar foods.
In fact, a recent study found that people who were eating lots of processed meats were four times more likely to have diabetes, and a quarter of the people who reported consuming a lot were also three times more often obese.
So if you want to eat more fruits and vegetables, keep your carbs low, and avoid processed meats and processed foods, you should definitely aim for healthier options.
