Disney is exploring the possibility of an app, but with no price tag, The Wall St. Journal reported.
A Disney spokesperson declined to comment, citing a nondisclosure agreement.
Disney is not the only company looking at ways to monetize its social media properties, with Instagram and Snapchat competing for users.
Instagram has about 20 million daily active users, while Snapchat has more than 10 million.
Disney, which owns ABC, has long sought to capitalize on the social media phenomenon.
It has a suite of social apps that includes Disney Junior, the popular Disney MoviePass and Disney Infinity, and Disney XD, the premium cable channel that features animated shows and movies.
Disney has said it will launch a new Disney app for smartphones in the next few months.
